Number 01: Soundcore by Anker Life A2 NC
Build Quality: The Anker Soundcore Life A2 NC's casing and earphones are built of hard plastic that feels like it might endure some knocks and spills. The one obvious weak point in their design appears to be their stability fins, which feel like they might easily tear. The actual earphones are water resistant to an IPX5 grade.
Sound Quality: The Sound gives EDM and hip-hop more thump and rumble at the expense of a touch too much treble. The recording quality of ANC is poor. If you don't like their preset sound profile, their companion app gives 20 EQ settings to choose from as well as a visual EQ. Although they include an ANC feature that can be tweaked via a companion app, they do a reasonable job of minimizing background noise when used in "Transport" mode.
Battery & Charging: On a single charge, the Anker Life A2 NC's battery life is around 11 hours. They also survive longer than the seven hours that were promised. Three LED indicators on the front of the case indicate whether the gadget is charging or not. The charging case provides an additional 30 hours of juice, which is much better.
Number 03: JLab JBuds Air ANC
Build Quality: The reasonably comfortable JLab Audio JBuds Air True Wireless have a beautiful appearance. Although there is only one button on each earbud, they might be a bit tricky to operate. These headphones are exceedingly compact when folded. These are solidly built. They feel solid despite being mostly made of plastic.
